Jen Kristel grew up in Massachusetts. She

Expressive Therapies from Lesley University. She has studied print making with
Master printmakers Carol MacDonald and Brian Cohen.
Jen moved to Vermont in 1992. She is an artist and teacher, and Expressive
arts therapist in private practice. She works in printmaking, painting and

emotional aspects of human life, often utilizing leaves, feathers, and other
flat objects that come alive and interact with each other in deeply human scenarios.
Jen believes
that art and functionality do not need to be separate, and along with framed
and unframed work, utilizes her prints to create lampshades, bowls and note
cards. Jen teaches improvisational theatre for community building and conflict
resolution and Expressive therapies both internationally and at Burlington
College. She is an instructor for VSAVT, a national arts organization that
supports people with disabilities. Jen
shows throughout the Northeast, and her work is in many private collections. She
lives in Burlington with her husband, Michael and her sons.
